Fitness Class Descriptions 

ChicoMetrics (Sugg Room)  Monday through Friday  5:30-6:30AM 

Debbie Vandevender  (Certified Instructor)  

ChicoMetrics is a fitness program that utilizes special isometric and isotonic exercises. This deep muscle toning program targets every muscle of the body from head to toe. ChicoMetrics will help slim and strengthen your body. It will also build stamina, promote flexibility and enhance mobility. It provides a resistance training program without using weights. It is also a great anaerobic workout safe for all ages, fitness levels and body types. All you need is a chair and a towel!

 

Practical Yoga (Sugg Room) Monday & Wednesday 3:30-4:25PM

This class focuses on calming the mind while stretching & toning your body. It encourages you to stretch and breathe in tandem through a variety of poses. You can become stronger, more flexible as well as improve your balance & strength.  This is a wonderful class for any fitness level. You will be encouraged to work to your own fitness level and you will never be compared to others or challenged beyond what is safe for you. It will physically change you  and mentally, it teaches you to pay closer attention and to become present in the moment.  Emotionally, you should feel more peaceful and calm after each class. This is a class you will want to make time for!

  

Tai Chi Society- Group Practice  (Everyone welcome to learn & practice) (Sugg Room)

Wednesday 10:00-10:45 AM  Lisa Schilling RN, CPT (FREE-No punch needed. Practice is open to all KCC members and students)

Learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi as a complete physical exercise to transcend the stigma of age, and re-vitalize the mind and body. We learn the individual movements and then practice the slow and deliberate sequence. Your practice will improve with time and we will develop our skills together! This sequence can be practiced regularly for improved balance and muscle control.  Perfect for any Fitness Level. Learn Tai Chi & Qigong fundamentals & reduce stress & have more energy.  Empower yourself with Tai Chi today!

 

Yoga Stretch ACES Active Chair Exercise Sequence (Sugg Room) Tuesday & Thursday 11:00-11:45 AM

Want to have the benefits of Yoga without the challenges of getting up and down? This class is for you! You can become stronger, more flexible and improve your balance and coordination. This is a wonderful class for any fitness level. You will be encouraged to work to your own fitness level and will never be challenged beyond what is safe for you. This class will change you physically and mentally, it teaches greater body awareness. Emotionally, it promotes peace and calming.

 

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program

Formerly: Osteo-Flex ACES Active Chair Exercise Sequence (Sugg Room)

Monday &Wednesday 11:00-11:50 AM  Lisa Schilling RN, CPT (Certified Instructor)

This Class is designed to take your joints through a full range of motion. This method can improve flexibility and increase your body awareness. A wonderful class for any fitness level, but it is designed to help those with Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. A balanced program of exercise, rest and medical support are tools to improve joint and muscle pain. You can reduce stiffness and maintain or improve your joint mobility and muscle strength. You will be encouraged to work to your own fitness level and will never be challenged beyond what is safe for you. This class is taught from the chair and requires no special props. This is an official fitness class of the Arthritis Foundation. 

 

30 Minute ACES Active Chair Exercise Sequence (Sugg Room)

Monday & Wednesday 4:30-5:00PM       Lisa Schilling RN, CPT

This basic full-body workout is the same one taught during the Weight Loss Challenge. Join us to learn a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and agility, and to support the skills required for your daily life activities. It will help you burn fat more efficiently and improve your bone density. During this class, you’ll not only burn calories, but also maintain a significant metabolism boost throughout the day.  Learn this program now and you can practice at home too. Stay strong with this body-sculpting workout program that is adaptable for all fitness levels.

 

30 Minute Lunch Crunch Circuit Training (Sugg Room) 

Tuesday & Thursday  12:05-12:35PM Lisa Schilling RN, CPT

This multi-discipline circuit class utilizes various techniques to provide functional training. It combines intervals muscle conditioning & cardio to provide you with a total body workout. Burn calories & improve your fitness. It utilizes a variety of methods & is adaptable to fitness level.

 

Boot Camp (Outdoors East Entrance of KCC)

Tuesday & Thursday  5:00-5:55PM        Lisa Schilling RN, CPT

This full-body workout is a high intensity series of exercises designed to push you to a higher level of fitness and body toning. Spring is here and swimsuit season is not far away, get in the shape by tackling this challenging class. Join us to learn a variety of exercises and drills designed to increase muscular strength, tone and agility. This class will be taught outdoors weather permitting. It will help you burn fat more efficiently by combining cardio drills with basic body weight exercises and plyometrics. During this class, you’ll not only burn calories, but also maintain a significant metabolism boost throughout the day. This is a new take on "PE class." Stay strong with this body-sculpting workout program. It is not suitable for all fitness levels. Moderate to good physical condition required.

 

Cardio Step & Strengthen Aerobics- (Sugg Room)

Wednesday 5:15-6:15PM   Lisa Schilling RN, CPT  

This class combines basic cardio-step aerobics and strength training exercises to give you two workouts in one. Pace yourself or go the limit. Improve your cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance. This is a one-stop way to get fit – and it’s suitable for most levels of fitness.

 

PraiseDance ACES Active Chair Exercise Sequence (Sugg Room)

(Worship and Wellness through Movement and Music )

Want to have the benefits of lyrical dance, martial arts and stretching without the challenges of jumping around? This is the class you! At the same time you can have a moving and worshipful experience to praise music. You do not have to have rhythm or be a dancer to love this type of movement. It allows you to express yourself through guided gentle movements. There is not a right or wrong way to move. In the end, you will feel your body and mind change from expressing yourself through movement and music. It is an amazing workout that does not leave you feeling worked-over! You can become stronger, more flexible and improve muscle tone. It is a wonderful class for any fitness level. You will be encouraged to work to your own fitness level and will never be challenged beyond what is safe for you. This class will change you physically and mentally, it teaches greater body awareness. Emotionally, it promotes peace and calming.
